Jessica Mongerio, Artistic Director
The Marion Civic Chorale is excited to have Jessica Mongerio as our new Artistic Director. Ms. Mongerio completed her undergraduate and graduate music studies at the University of Central Florida, holds certification as an International Baccalaureate music instructor from Rice University, and has an impressive background in music and choral direction as well as private vocal instruction. She is a certified adjudicator with the Florida Vocal Association and currently sits on their Executive Board as the chair of her vocal district.
The current Choral Director At Forest High School in Ocala, she has built a choral program there in the past seven years after a 20 year absence of choir at Forest. Her program consists of six active choral ensembles who have consistently achieved Superior ratings at the District and State levels under her direction. Ms. Mongerio is a current and active member of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME),the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), the Florida Music Education Association (FMEA), and the Florida Vocal Association (FVA).
At the Performing Arts Conservatory of Ocala, she excelled as their music director and acting instructor for ten seasons, directing numerous musicals with students ages 5-20+. She also has an active Musical Theatre ensemble at Forest HIgh School focused on outreach tours each spring to underserved local elementary schools. Ms. Mongerio is an Educator of the Year award recipient from the Marion Cultural Alliance, the president and founder of the Marion All-County Choir organization which supports the secondary schools yearly All-County Choral Festival, and she is excited to bring her passion for choral music in the Ocala/Marion County community to the Marion Civic Chorale
